2. What is a solution? A solution is made when you mix a solid and a liquid and the solid dissolves. When you make Kool-Aid or chocolate milk, you are making a solution. Sometimes when you mix a solid and a liquid the solid does not dissolve. Click here to experiment with different solids. Find out which are solutions and which are mixtures.
