        Sierra Middle School offers exploratory art to mix of seventh and eighth graders. 
Ms. Linda Crawford directs the students in the four components of art that include:  artistic perception, creative perception, historical and cultural contex, and aesthetic valuing.
Basic shapes, dimension and shading are beginning steps by which the class can build confidence.  Students are introduced to different medias by specific directed projects as well.
Bakersfield City School District features a student gallery at Baker Street. Along with over events like honor art at the Centennial Gardens/Convention Center, museum displays and the Kern County Fair; student pride, historical and cultural art experiences are enhanced.
