Library & Related Services

Sierra's library media center is the information hub of the school.  Students and staff can access information from a variety of electronic (internet, CD-Roms and information databases) and print (12,000 circulating books plus a large reference section) resources.

The school network is in place with all the classrooms being linked to the library where there are 9 computers for electronic research and 2 computers dedicated to the online catalog.  Cable TV is available through a PopVision connection.

Reading is a big priority at Sierra.  Participating students check out books from the library, read them and then take comprehensive tests on computers in both the classroom and the library.

Students are encouraged to become competent readers and develop information literacy through use of the library's resources.
