      Chess Tournament

 

 

We will be holding an end-of-the-year chess tournament here at Walter Stiern. Last yem' we had a great turnout, and we hope for the same this year. It will be a three day event culminating in many prizes and the crowning of a Walter Stiern Chess King or Queen. This is afree touman1ent and open to everyone. The only qualification is that you must know how to play chess.

 

***There will be no late buses; you must provide your own transportation***

 

Dates & Times

 

Tuesday, May 20: Rounds 1 + 2

Wednesday, May 21: Rounds 3 + 4

Thursday, May 22: Round 5 + A waI"ds Ceremony

 

The rounds will be after school from approximately 2 :00 - 3 :30 pm in room 103-104. Rounds begin at

2:15 and 3:00. Awards Ceremony at 3:00 last day. Half-point byes available for all rounds except final; maximum two byes; must be requested in advance. Top four boards must use clocks. G/15

 

We will be giving away many trophies and prizes, so please sign up and show us your chess skills! Trophies and other awards will go at least to the top five places. Medals and ribbons may also be available"
