About Ms. Terry Ms. Susie Terry has been a Math teacher at Stiern Middle School for 11 years now and is currently teaching 7th grade Benchmark and Strategic Mathematics. Ms. Terry comes from a family of Math teachers. Her Dad taught Math at Van Nuys Junior High in the Los Angeles area. Her brother Glenn teaches Geometry and Calculus at Pleasant Grove High School in Utah, and wrote his own Geometry textbook. Her sister Julie teaches Algebra and Geometry at Winslow High School in Arizona. Her brother Mark teaches Business Statistics at Drake University. Ms. Terry has also taught Kindergarten and 5th grade and has worked as a medical transcriber, lifeguard, library clerk and playground director. Ms. Terry graduated from John H. Francis Polytechnic High School in Sun Valley, California in 1973 and from BYU in Provo, Utah in 1987. She received her teaching credential through Chapman University. Ms. Terry has three children, twin daughters and a son. Lydia is a real estate appraiser. Lisa is a Head Start pre-school teacher. John is in his 2nd year of Law School. Ms. Terry’s hobbies are sports and music. Her family is very musical and occasionally performs together as a family band. Ms. Terry teaches piano and flute lessons after school, and plays the organ at church. She has been involved in local productions of “Fiddler on the Roof,” “Oliver,” and “Beauty and the Beast.” Ms. Terry finished her very first mini-triathlon last May. Ms. Terry is the proud grandmother of three grandbabies, all born within the last year and a half. Her son had a baby girl, and her daughters had baby boys.
