To the parents/guardians of all 8th Grade students
Graduation gowns: All junior high/middle schools in the Bakersfield City School District will be adding a very special and dignified touch to graduation ceremonies this year. Signifying the solemnity of the occasion, all graduating students and participating staff will be asked to wear academic robes. These will be available from Jostens, who will be at Stiern to measure the height of every graduating 8th grader!!!
Boys will wear black gowns,
and the
girls will wear teal.
No ceremonial caps will be worn.
The gowns will be made of cotton, not a disposable paper-like product, and so will be very suitable to keep for use by younger siblings in future years. The cost will be $17.00 per student until April 7th. After April 7th cost will be $20.
